Senator Ron Johnson appeared to fake a phone call to avoid answering questions from reporters as he left the Capitol on Tuesday, January 6, following the stunning revelations regarding the behavior of his staffers at the committee meeting that day.
Johnson was surprisingly charged with being a part of Donald Trump’s fake elector controversy during a committee hearing this week on January 6.
But when reporters caught up with the GOP senator on Capitol Hill hours later, he claimed to be on the phone, and the tale took a comical turn.
When journalists questioned Johnson at first, he responded, “I’m on the phone right now.” Frank Thorp of NBC News retorted, “No, you’re not. My eyes are on your phone. I see what’s on your screen.”

Senator Ron Johnson has not been arrested. When reporters attempted to interview Johnson about the committee’s information, he was already leaving the Capitol building.
The proof included text exchanges Johnson’s chief of staff, Sean Riley, made to a Pence staffer on January 6, 2021, after the Capitol riot prevented Joe Biden from being officially declared the winner of the 2020 election.

Riley wrote to Chris Hodgson, a Pence adviser, saying that he wanted to give Pence a list of fictitious electors ready to reject Biden’s victory and cast their ballots for Trump. Hodgson denied the request.
What Are January 6 Difficulties And Why It Gets Messed Up?
The House Select Committee looking into January 6 disclosed that Sean Riley, the chief of staff for Johnson, texted Mike Pence’s legislative director in late 2020 about sending a different slate of electors from Wisconsin and Michigan to overturn Joe Biden’s victories in the states.
Johnson has made an effort to disavow or disassociate himself from the incident, most recently asserting that Riley was only introduced to a lawyer who was working on Donald Trump’s campaign to invalidate votes in the state.

Ron described his alleged participation in trying to get bogus electors to Pence as a “two-minute role” on Friday.
On Thursday, while appearing on a conservative radio station, he supposedly received a message concerning the matter. Still, he insisted that he was only aware of a document loosely related to “Wisconsin electors.”

On Friday, Republican Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin received scathing criticism from Rep. Ron Kind, who demanded a probe into his connection to the state’s phony 2020 electors.
According to WXOW 19 News, Kind, a Democrat representing Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District, responded to Johnson’s assertions with skepticism and said that the senator was either “lying” or “incompetent.”
Kind further claimed that Johnson might be fabricating information to avoid facing significant charges that might prevent him from holding elected office. He demanded an investigation into Johnson’s knowledge as well.
