Who Is Svetlana Shatunova? Yuri Shatunov Wife As Singer Died From Heart Attack

The artist wed the woman he had dated for seven years in Germany in 2007.

Yuri Shatunov's wife, Svetlana, whose life story is essentially unknown, gave birth to his son Denis in 2006 and his daughter Estela in 2013.

The kid was baptized in Sochi, and Andrey Razin served as his godfather. 

Before his passing, Shatunov was actively pursuing his solo career and gave regular performances throughout Russia, Germany, Eastern Europe, and several of the former Soviet bloc nations in Central Asia, such as Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

Yuri Shatunov, a hugely successful pop singer in the 1980s and 1990s, passed away on Wednesday at 48.

According to Shatunov's manager, Arkady Kudryashov, "Yuri's heart stopped last night in an ambulance," the state-run TASS news agency said.

Shatunov was arguably best known as the lead singer of the band Laskovy Mai, which towards the end of the 1980s, went on sell-out tours that packed stadiums throughout the Soviet Union.

The nostalgic Belye Rozi ('White Roses') and Sedaya Noch ('Grey Night') are two of their most popular songs. Shatunov started a solo career after Laskovy Mai broke up in 1992, but it never took off to the same extent.

Yuri Shatunov died at the age of 48 years old. Shatunov was born on September 6, 1973, in the independent Republic of Bashkortostan of the former Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (USSR).

His mother raised him after his father abandoned him when he was three. He moved in with his aunt and maternal grandparents when his mother died from heart illness.

When he was eleven, they quickly found themselves unable to handle his conduct. 

Shatunov was sent to Orenburg Children's Home Number 2 in Orenburg, where he had a history of misbehavior, including running away from the orphanage.

Yuri Shatunov did have a Wikipedia page to his name. Shatunov sang well despite having a difficult upbringing.

He connected with Sergei Kuznetsov, the orphanage's music instructor, and together they formed the band "Laskoviy Mai" ("Tender May").

Although it wasn't expected then and was especially odd for the young band members in their early teens in 1986, this group sang about unhappy love. Shatunov served as the frontman for this band, which was well-known in Russia from 1986 until 1992.

Shatunov relocated to Germany in 1996 to finish the schooling left incomplete by his traumatic upbringing and early music career and to study how to become a music producer.

Yura spent the first four years of his life in the village of Pyatki, where he was raised by his grandpa Shatunov Gavril Egorovich and grandmother Ekaterina Ivanovna Shatunova.

Yuri and his mother settled in the hamlet of Savelyevka in 1977. Yura began attending school at the standard age of seven for kids. And then tragedy struck four years later when his mother died from heart failure.

Vasily Klimenko is Yuri Shatunov's father; he did not influence his son's life or upbringing. Vera Shatunova, Yura's mother, passed away when he was eleven.

Yuri spent his first year at an orphanage before moving to the second Orenburg boarding school. He met Sergei Kuznetsov, with whom he recorded their first songs using a standard cassette recorder at a local cultural center.
