Georgia QB Taisun Phommachanh Parents Comes From An Eccentric Background

Taisun Phommachanh, a quarterback for Georgia Bulldogs, was born to dad Sam Phommachanh and mom Jasmine Taisun. Their family background is a unique one.

His mother runs a catering business named Angel Face Catering, where his father was also a football player and later started coaching. His parents are Laotian immigrants who struggled greatly in their early years as newcomers. 

Before his son’s rise to fame and success, his family of seven on Cheshire Street led a somewhat average life. Now, they are living blissfully and aren’t concerned about how they will pay their bills.

In 2020, a fire in Stratford destroyed Sam and Jasmine Phommachanh’s home. No one was hurt, but the Phommachanh family suffered a significant loss and was devastated to watch their house burn down.

Taisun Phommachanh Has His Father’s Attributes

Sam is the father of Taisun Phommachanh, who used to play football and taught him the fundamentals of sports.

At Harding High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where his father, Sam, played quarterback from 1988 to 1990, Taisun also spent his first two seasons of competitive football.

Eddie Santiago, the Harding coach, claimed his dad’s impact was noticeable. Sam’s release and delivery of the ball were mirrored in Taisun, and one thing that stood out to me was how quickly Sam got the ball out. The same was true for Taisun.

Furthermore, Taisun attributes his father, who always advised him to play with room for improvement and never let celebrity or success get to his head, for helping him develop a mature view of the game.

Even his family is in awe at how much he acts and behaves like his father, who has profoundly impacted his life and served as his role model since he was a young child.

While their home was also destroyed by fire in 2020, his father lost her mother, Kane, at 68 in the same period. Her funeral was held with the help of donations received through Go Fund Me.

Taisun Phommachanh Mother Loves To Cook

Taisun Phommachanh mother Jasmine is a great cook and has her own catering company called Angel Face Catering.

The Taisun Phommachanh Family hails from Stratford, Connecticut, and is renowned for excelling in football.

Jordan, Tyler, and Kaylah are Taisun’s brothers and sisters, respectively. The Phommachans, on the other hand, are a deeply religious family that constantly believes that God is watching over them.

Jordan is followed by Taisun, who, with Sam’s help, grew up to be a 6’2″ dual-threat quarterback. At Harding High School and Avon Old Farms School, where he excelled, Taisun passed for a total of 5,224 yards and 46 touchdowns.

Tyler, the third son, made the decision to stay nearby. At the University of Connecticut, where he plays quarterback for the Huskies, he began his freshman season in 2021.

Kaylah, the daughter, may be the family’s top athlete. At Bunnell High School, Kaylah is a standout in the 100-meter dash, the 4×100-meter relay, and the high jump.
