Taisun Phommachanh Has His Father's Attributes
Sam is the father of Taisun Phommachanh, who used to play football and taught him the fundamentals of sports.
At Harding High School in Bridgeport, Connecticut, where his father, Sam, played quarterback from 1988 to 1990, Taisun also spent his first two seasons of competitive football.

Eddie Santiago, the Harding coach, claimed his dad's impact was noticeable. Sam's release and delivery of the ball were mirrored in Taisun, and one thing that stood out to me was how quickly Sam got the ball out. The same was true for Taisun.
Furthermore, Taisun attributes his father, who always advised him to play with room for improvement and never let celebrity or success get to his head, for helping him develop a mature view of the game.

Even his family is in awe at how much he acts and behaves like his father, who has profoundly impacted his life and served as his role model since he was a young child.
While their home was also destroyed by fire in 2020, his father lost her mother, Kane, at 68 in the same period. Her funeral was held with the help of donations received through Go Fund Me.
