Taylor and her sister, Symone, know about tennis at an early age from her mother. Her mother was a tennis player and used to play at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Mo. Her friend Donald Young Sr. was a coach, and she asked him to coach her daughter. Donald accepted her request and started to train the two sisters together.
Symone Townsend used to play tennis at her college, Florida A&M. She came from Chicago to Florida for her higher education and became the No.1 lady Rattlers of Florida A&M.
2. Symone Has A Knee Injury And Left To Play Tennis
Symone Townsend got a serious knee injury while practicing tennis with her sister, Taylor.

Due to her knee injury, she stops to play tennis but still motivates her sister to maintain her consistency in the game. During her injury, her mother, Shelia said,” It was like a Williams sisters things. Symone was actually better than Taylor.”
However, Taylor did not stop her training with Young, but young’s son continued on the pro tour and gave less time to Taylor, and the improvement in Taylor became slow. Because of less improvement, her family sends her to the U.S.T.A Training Center in Boca Raton, Fla., to make it easier to take an online class, train, and live during school life.
3. Symone Sister Taylor Started Playing Tennis At Six
Taylor Townsend, a younger sister of Symone, started playing tennis at age six and became the first player who participated in XS Tennis.
Her mother, Sheila, introduced Tennis to both sisters at an early age. She sent her daughters to coach Donald Young, as Donald Young and Sheila grew up in the south side of Chicago and went to the same tennis class together.

Due to less improvement with Donald, Sheila decided to send Taylor to the U.S.T.A. Training Center. Sheila said they knew they could provide the finances Taylor needed to get the opportunities, experience, and training.
She made her debut at the Open in August 2010, but she lost in the first round of the girls’ singles qualifying tournaments. After the year, she got a wild-card entry from U.S.T.A for the women’s qualifying tournament and successfully won a match against Arantxa Parra Santonja of Spain and became the second youngest player to qualify.
4. Symone’s Sister Is The Mother Of One Kid
Taylor Townsend was blessed with one child in 2021, but the child’s father is not yet revealed.
On August 14, 2020, she announced her pregnancy through social media and gave birth to her son, Adyn Aubrey, on March 14, 2021.

During the first week of World TeamTennis, Taylor’s health condition was not good, and she had been struggling with stomach discomfort and nausea. She thought about testing her pregnancy, and she got a positive result. After knowing the result, she posted a video about her pregnancy on her Instagram.
She said in the video, In her entire life and entire career, she has heard “you cannot, you would not,” and she takes it as the reason to fight hard and motivate herself to play. 5. Taylor Started Her Professional Career at 14
Taylor started playing tennis at six, and as a professional, she started at 14. She debuted in October 2010 and won her first career match.
At the age of 15, she won the title of the junior Australian Open in 2012 and became the second American to win Australian Open and also won the doubles title at the same event and became the first American to win both titles at a Junior Slam event.

She became the no.1 player in the ITF junior ranking after winning the title of Easter Bowl.
In 2014, she won both a single and double title of USTA pro and earned the wildcard entry in French Open. In the French Open, she wins the match against American no.65, Vania King.
In 2015, she made it into the top 100 of the WTA at the starting of the season, but she finished the year ranked outside of the top 300. In 2017, she won an $80,000 event, the biggest title of her career, and also made it into the top 100.
