Tina Maze Boyfriend Andrea Massi Coached Her In Alpine Skiing

Tina Maze boyfriend Andrea Massi is a head skiing coach and the leader of the team called Team to aMAZE.

Before Team to aMAZE, Maze trained with the national ski team, but she later decided to partner with Massi. As a result of this decision, Maze’s career took a huge step in the right direction.

Maze also won two giant slalom races in the 2009 Alpine Skiing World Cup, one in Maribor, Slovenia, and the other in Sweden.

In the 2010 season, Massi also assisted Maze in a giant slalom victory and finished second in both the slalom and giant slalom. Maze had fifteen top-10 finishes in that season and came in fourth overall. Once more, she came in third place in the giant slalom rankings.

In 2012, Massi helped Maze to win an alpine ski, women’s World Cup giant slalom, in St. Moritz, Switzerland. Although Tina had another coach on team aMaze, working with Massi was more comfortable for her. 

Maze and Massi were also together for her record-breaking season in 2013. The season went all-time favorite for the ski star, who won 11 races and tallied a record number of 2414 World Cup points.

Tina and Andrea have been romantically linked since October 20, 2012.

The couple shares a significant age gap. In 2022, Maze will be 39 years old, with her birthday celebrated on May 2. At the same time, Massi turned 54 years this year. Despite some noticeable years of age difference, the couple has learned to partner as a coach and a student.

Andrea was born in Gorizia, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. He is a former Liceo Scientifico Duca Degli Abruzzi student at the Istituto Universitario di Scienze Motorie. A scholar of Physical Education, Massi was the right choice for Tina to excel in her ski career.

Maze has shared plenty of pictures with Andrea, who is a bit personal in his lifestyle. In one of his interviews, he has shown satisfaction with Tina’s overall performance.

Massi has said about his partner: “I am convinced that what Tina is doing is important for your country, and we must tell Slovenians that her successes are an epic story of a small nation overcoming the big ones.”

On November 17, 2022, the pair appeared at the Fundacija Miroslava Cerarja. They were beautifully dressed in dark-colored dresses. While in the caption, Maze wrote a special thanks to her partner for her impressive ski career. She also thanked Rok Čibej for her beautiful outfit for the day and Tjaša for her jewelry.

Tina and Andrea announced they were expecting a child together in November 2017.

The couple had shared a photo of them on Instagram, where Maze was sitting in a swing and Massi was at the top of a tree. Three months later, Maze gave birth to her first baby girl. As of 2022, Maze’s daughter, Anouk, is four years old. 

As a mom, Tina posts a lot of pictures of her daughter. Although, her pictures have yet to unveil Anouk’s face. During her daughter’s recent birthday, Maze posted a photo of Anouk with skis.

On July 4, 2022, the ski superstar posted a photo of her family with the President of Slovenia. In the caption, she thanked Borut Pahor for promoting friendship between Slovenia and Switzerland and for supporting the ski.
