Who Is Tracy Murphy? Asha’s Farm Sanctuary Owner Arrested For Larceny, Refused To Return Cows To Rightful Owner

Tracy Murphy, with academic qualifications of B.Sc and M.Sc, is the founder and current president of Asha’s Farm Sanctuary. She further leads the Buffalo Vegan Society.

The Buffalo Vegan Society was the first vegan organization in Western New York, founded by Tracy in 2007. It brought together like-minded people for fellowship, education, and support and hosted knowledgeable vegan medical professionals to lecture throughout the year.

The Buffalo Vegan Society works to make the world a better place for all people, animals, and the environment by exposing the mistreatment of farm animals and advocating for a vegan lifestyle.

The sanctuary of her, Asha, is a 27-acre farm situated in the middle of orchards and vineyards. It is the ideal place to start the magic when people first meet farmed animals and realize how amiable, emotional, and intelligent they are.

The place is the residence of Albert the Super Cow and his barnyard companions, including a mother cow, a blind cow, chickens, donkeys, turkeys, pigs, sheep, and playful steers.

To run sanctuary-full time, Tracy left her desirable position as an Assistant Vice President at the international company HSBC in 2014. Nevertheless, she recently has brought under charge for larceny.

Tracy Murphy, the owner of Asha’s Farm Sanctuary, was detained on Tuesday for grand larceny in the third degree. Two cows, which Murphy claimed wandered onto her farm, were accused of being stolen by the 59-year-old sanctuary owner.

The New York State Police officials located both cows and returned them to the original owner. To retrieve the cows, Lockport troopers went to Murphy’s house on July 25. 

Previously, Murphy refused to return the cows, and the warrant was executed for her arrest, and the cows were retrieved. The lady was transported to SP Lockport for processing and returned to the Niagara County jail for arraignment.

Asha tried to keep two cows that belonged to a beef farm in Newfane, claiming they came to her field themself. As the news burst on the Internet, everyone felt horrible knowing she stole those poor animals from their original home, and when she was confronted, they refused to return the cows to their rightful owner.

The woman opened the sanctuary in the memory of her lost dog, Asha. On her website, Tracy states that Asha was her canine companion and named her because it means life as the dog gave her life. Unfortunately, Asha died of cancer at only 11 years old.

Asha mentions that it was the hardest moment of her life to see Asha leave this world, and shorting after her passing away, Tracy searched for more meaning in her life. Eventually, she witnessed newborn animals’ heartless and abusive treatments while investigating auction houses. 

That is when she sold her home in the suburbs, quit her job, and founded Asha’s Farm Sanctuary. While her story is so moving, her recent act by her has crushed everyone. She tried to rationalize the situation implying how she felt about those cows, but that certainly did not justify her stealing them.
