Curler Val Sweeting And Her Boyfriend Matt Relationship

Val Sweeting boyfriend Matt is a professional welder at Lincoln Electrics based in Alberta. Sweeting and Matt have one son together.

Canadian curler Val plays third for Team Kerri Einarson. She won the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Sweeting and her team recently celebrated the WFG Masters women’s trophy win on December 11, 2022, at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex in Oakville.

Besides being a superb athlete, Sweeting is very responsible for her family. She is dating her partner Matt and has a son, Jaxen.

Val Sweeting Boyfriend Matt Is A Welder

Val Sweeting boyfriend Matt works at Lincoln Electrics as a professional welder. 

Val’s partner is seen active on Instagram with his handle name @mkapr. He likes to post photos of his travel and jobs. In one of his Instagram posts, the welder stated that he could not count how many up hands he has rooted in the last nine years.

Matt is a big fan of his partner, Sweeting, and the Team Kerri Einarson. On January 28, 2022, he posted a photo of Val’s Canadian national team jersey and wished his partner for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

On Instagram, Matt has also shared many pictures of him Skibobbing or riding a snowmobile. While he also posted photos of him working at some of the craziest oilfields located in Canada.

There are times when Val has to be out for training. She travels a lot due to her sports career.

Val And Matt Have A Son Jaxen

Val and Matt live in Alberta with their young son Jaxen who has had a genetic disorder since childhood.

Matt and Val share a lot about their young son, who is diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder, SATB2 syndrome.

Jaxen suffered from a very young age. However, he has always been an inspiration to his mom. As quoted on Winnipegfreepress, Sweeting said she gained toughness from her son. Since fewer than 500 people worldwide have been diagnosed with the condition.

The curler said: “I’ve learned much about resilience from Jaxen. If anything, he is taught me way more than I’ve taught him.”

Jaxen turned nine-year-old and studies in fifth grade starting in 2022.

She also admires Jaxen’s patience as he cannot communicate properly. However, she still feels happy about the small things that her son has adapted in recent years. Jaxen recently learned to ride a bicycle.

Val has said: “It would be easy for him to get frustrated and give up on things when he can not communicate what he wants. But he was able to learn how to ride a bike last year. He took a couple of spills early, but he had pushed me away, got back up, and kept going,”

Jaxen and Matt celebrated easter together while mom, Val, was busy training on April 2022.

The curler has often stated that Jaxen and Matt spend most of their time together. Jaxen is in fifth grade at a school in St. Paul, and he likes to play hockey. When his mom is not around, Jaxen and Matt go fishing or Jet skiing.
