Dave Temkin wrote on Tuesday, August 3, 2022, ''I am hearing that Vijay Gill passed away today. I'm gutted - Vijay meant so much to my colleagues and me. Sarcastic and snarky, but always honest and trustworthy.''

''He meant so much to me and helped me get through some of the most challenging points in my career. My thoughts are with his family.''

Who Was Vijay Gill? His Wikipedia

Vijay Gill was a Computer Science expert and IT executive. He has served as the SVP of Engineering at RapidAPI Inc since October 2021. 

He attended the University of Maryland Baltimore and graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Computer Science.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Gill started his career as a System Administrator at UMBC. He then joined UUNET/Worldcom as a Network Engineer and served the company for two years until May 2000.

Between 2000 and 2010, the CS graduate worked under different designations for MFN/Abovenet, AOL, and Internet Architecture Board.

Gill's career was greatly uplifted when he joined Google in November 2006. He started as a technical team member and then got promoted to the Managerial level. He managed production network engineering and Architecture for Google.

After leaving Google, he served for Microsoft as a General Manager and led teams for Microsoft Azure Global foundational infrastructure for Microsoft online services for consumers and businesses worldwide. He left the firm in 2015.

The former Google member then got employment with the Sales Force as the SVP of Software Engineering. Eventually, he joined Databricks, Twilio Inc, and his current employers, RapidAPI.

Inside RapidAPI, the SVP handled the company's product, platform, and infrastructure. His expertise brought several changes to the system of RapidAPI; ultimately, the platform has become one of the most efficient hubs for APIs.
