Von Wagner WWE Dad Wayne Bloom, Cal Bloom Followed His Fathers Footsteps

WWE rising star Von Wagner’s dad Wayne Bloom is a former professional wrestler known for his wrestling name Beau Beverly. 

It is safe to say, Wayne Bloom, who goes by his ring name CVon Wagner kept his father’s legacy alive by stepping on his foot trail to be a professional wrestler.

His father, Wayne, played in several wrestling associations during his wrestling days in the 80s and 90s, such as the American Wrestling Association (AWA) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). 

Moreover, in the early 90s, Wayne joined the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), now WWE, with a ring name Beau Beverly and joined the Beverly Brothers with his brother Enos.

Similarly, his son Cal, currently in the NXT brand of WWE, is considered the future of WWE. When competing against Pete Dunne, LA Knight, and Tommaso Ciampa in a grueling Fatal 4-Way match on his first night in NXT, the towering 6-foot-5 Von Wagner won the fight. He held his own against all three of his opponents.

Von Wagner Dad Wayne Bloom Is A Former Wrestling Professional

Von Wagner was born to his parents, father Wayne Bloom and his mother, Yvonne Bloom.

Wrestling is in Von’s blood; he’s the son of a pro wrestler. Bloom had early instruction from seasoned pro wrestlers, including his dad, Wayne, Ken Kennedy, and Brad Rheingans.

Cal made his first appearance on NXT 2.0 in September 2021 under the ring name Von Wagner. He was a substitute for Kyle O’Reilly in the Fatal 4-Way main event at that time.

On the other hand, his father, Wayne Bloom, was a professional wrestler in the late 1980s and early 1990s, competing for significant firms. Wayne competed in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and World Wrestling Entertainment (formerly known as the World Wrestling Federation, or WWF).

Von Wagner signed a developmental contract with WWE in 2019. He now plays for WWE NXT 2.0.

He went by his ring name Beau Beverly. He and Mike Enos, better known by their stage names The Destruction Crew and The Beverly Brothers, collaborated most of Bloom’s career.

Began his professional ring career at the American Wrestling Association (AWA) in 1988; Wayne could not make much impact as a sole wrestler, so he partnered with Mike and competed in tag team battles. 

The Destruction Crew signed with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) in 1990. After that, in 1991, Wayne became a member of WWF. In 1993, Bloom parted ways with the WWF and took a break from his career as a professional wrestler. And in 1999, Bloom announced his retirement from the professional wrestling industry.

Cal Bloom Followed His Father Wayne Bloom Footsteps

Cal Bloom, aka Von Wagner, is closely monitoring his father Wayne’s footsteps to become a WWE star.

Currently, he is in the WWE NXT, a developmental territory for WWE. After graduating from high school, Bloom participated in football at the University of Central Florida (UCF). From 2012 to 2016, he was a member of the UCF Knights football team and played the tight end position.

Similarly, the 28-year-old made his first appearance on NXT TV under the new ring name Von Wagner on the program that aired on September 14, 2021. Because of his boyish appearance and size, many people are drawing comparisons between him and young Edge, who used to be a celebrity in WWE.

“He is rough around the edges, but he has something, and Vince thinks he can be a big deal, but it will take some time.” a WWE insider said.

And as the son of former WWE star Wayne Bloom, Cal properly utilizes that as leverage for his promising career. Everybody on the WWE management team believes he will one day be a star of the WWE WrestleMania main event. They are pretty confident that his fame is written in stars.

Von Wagner Family Life

Von Wagner grew up in a family of wrestlers. Almost every member of his family is in or out related to wrestling. 

Therefore, it should not have come as a shock when he abruptly decided to leave collegiate football to seek a career in wrestling. Between 2012 and 2016, he was a member of the UCF Knights football team and played tight end.

NXT standout Von Wagner has impressed WWE CEO Vince McMahon. He believe Von will soon be the new face of WWE family.

It was in March of 2019 that he signed a developmental contract with WWE. Since then, he has been honing his in-ring skills at the WWE Performance Center, and this bout against Sheamus was his first television appearance.

Although his father’s career in WWE was not very fruitful, he did at one point co-hold the AWA World Tag Team Championship with Mike Enos; Cal wants to improve on his family record in WWE history and become a star of the show.
