Were The Tuohys At Michael Oher Wedding? Biological And Adopted Parents

The Tuohys were not present at Michael Oher’s wedding to Tiffany Roy. The former football player was adopted by the Tuohys in 2004 and lived with them before he turned into a household name in the NFL.

The Tuohys and Michael’s life story inspired the book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game and later an Oscar-nominated movie of the same name. Michael’s biological parents were absent in his formative years as his mother dealt with drug addiction.

Oher shared a sweet Instagram post of him and his wife, with whom he shares two sons and daughters. But after not seeing the Tuohy family share any photos on social media, many were left thinking if there was any rift between Michael and his adoptive family.

Were The Tuohys At Michael Oher Wedding?

The Tuohys weren’t present at Michael Oher’s wedding ceremony. It was shocking for many as the Tuohys were the ones who helped Michael to have some kind of balance in his life.

In the exclusive photos posted by People Magazine, the Tuohys were nowhere to be seen. The footballer was rather surrounded by his biological family, including his brothers and sisters.

In 2013, Denise gave an interview with Action News and told her side of the story. Denise said she was grateful to Tuohy for raising her son into an excellent young man and said she was embarrassed by her addiction problem.

And Denise said it was out of embarrassment that she didn’t watch the movie, “The Blind Side,” based on the true life of Michael Oher. After the Baltimore Ravnes’ Superbowl victory Denise was driven to celebrate with her son at an after-party.

But that same year, she got into a DUI incident that drew a lot of media attention. In 2017, Denise said it had been six years since she last touched drugs and was living in a two-bedroom home on Elvis Presley Boulevard.

Jerome was shot, and killed, and tossed off a bridge and never got a chance to be a part of his son’s life. He passed away when Michael was in high school and prison, he was a cellmate of his wife’s brother.

And it was at Tuohy that he was able to feel as if he was at home. Leah Anne Tuohy at first introduced Michael to her friends as her son’s best friend. But as Michael continued to live with the family for a long time, she asked him if he would want to move in with them.

Michael didn’t hesitate to say yes as he got along well with his brother Sean Jr who at first didn’t like his parents bringing another person into the family. Michael had a great relationship with his sister Collins who would cheer him on from the stands.

The Tuohy helped him to improve his grades as well as motivated him to become a football player. The Tuohy was present when Michael won his Superbowl title, and the football player was there during his sister Collin’s wedding ceremony.

Michael was last seen on Leigh Anne’s Instagram handle on February 2, 2020, with Anne posting the photo with the former football star and captioned the post, “He will always be my Super Bowl MVP!”
