Ambika Rao, an Indian actress known for her work in multiple south Indian movies and serials, died on the 27th of June 2022 because of kidney failure.

In the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala, in the Kallara home of Karunakaran and Sarasamma, Ambika was born in 1962. The 2014 Mahila Congress was led by Kalara Sarasamma, who is her mother.

Radha and Mallika, as well as Arjun and Suresh, are her younger sisters and brothers respectively.

She was a divorced woman. Her mother is a Malayalee and her father is a Marathi. Ambika previously claimed in an interview that her father had given her and her siblings the freedom to pursue careers in the arts.

In 1988, Ambika wed Premkumar Menon, an NRI who was from USA. But in 1996, they got divorced. She then wed actor Ravikant in 2000, which also didn't last long. She separated from her 2nd husband in 2022.

Ambika was first introduced by K. Bhagyaraj in his movie Andha 7 Naatkal in 1981. Many of the top actors of her time, including Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Vijayakanth, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dileep, Shankar, N.T. Rama Rao, Krishna, Chiranjeevi, Dr. Rajkumar, and Ambarish, have appeared in Ambika's productions.

In the 1980s, she enjoyed a rapidly growing career acting in Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam films. She took on some risky parts in Tamil and Malayalam, showcasing her talent and adaptability. She plays a nice character in Kannada.

Her duet with Ambareesh, "Rain Song," is frequently broadcasted on television and is regarded as ground-breaking in a traditional field. She co-starred with Mohanlal in the wildly successful Malayalam movie Rajavinte Makan in 1986. She and he co-starred in the popular film Irupatham Noottandu the next year.
