A 20-year-old from Philadelphia named Nick Yarris was arrested for the murder of Linda. Though he was later found innocent, Yarris spent a major part of his life in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

32-year-old sales associate Linda was returning home from work when she got abducted. Her vehicle Chrysler Cordoba was soon discovered on a roadside in Chichester, Pennsylvania.

The next day, Craig’s body was found in a church’s parking lot; she had been sexually assaulted and stabbed to death. Four days later, a man named Nick Yarris got arrested for the attempted murder of a police officer in a road altercation. In desperation, Yarris claimed to know the killer of Linda. But, when the suspect identified by Nick was cleared, the suspicion shifted toward Nick.
Yarris was soon charged with Linda’s murder and was found guilty of abduction, murder, and rape. He was sentenced to death on July 1, 1982. He was eventually found not guilty of the murder and sexual assault by DNA testing after more than two years in prison in September 2003.
Nick was finally released on January 16, 2004, and later made a deal with the FBI of about $4 million.

As of 2022, Nick Yarris leads a peaceful life with his wife Laura Thompson.
Post his release from prison, Nick became involved in many social causes that aimed at freeing innocent and wrongly convicted people from prison.
