Who Are Daniel Ashley Pierce’s Parents? Interview Video On Instagram

Daniel Ashley Pierce was born to parents Amanda Karchner and his father, whose name is not disclosed. His parents divorced when he was only five, and he started living with his father and brother at 12.

After a few years, Daniel’s father remarried his girlfriend, who was now his stepmother. Daniel came out to his stepmother, to which she did not show any strong reactions and seemed to accept the situation.

However, in the future days to come, the confession had turned into a heated wedge between Daniel and his family, which he would only come to find out on the day his family abandoned him.

In the name of religion, his father’s side of the family rejected the then 20-year-old kid and disowned him for being gay and true to himself. His grandmother even went to say that,

“You can deny it all you want to, but I believe in the word of God, and God creates nobody that way. It’s a path that you have chosen to choose.”

The young kid asked his stepmother if he could stay in the house, but his request was coldly rejected with a no, and there were a lot of physical and verbal altercations.

Daniel took a video of the whole situation, which went viral on youtube and Reddit; that has haunted him but at the same time helped him escape the toxic environment he was in.

Despite the sad situation, it was heartwarming to watch strangers come together to help a young kid whose own family abandoned him.

His father and his stepmother denied all requests for interviews regarding the issue, and Daniel has cut all ties with the family.

Daniel Ashley Pierce was born in 1994, so he is currently 28 years old and happily married to his longtime boyfriend, David Estrada. The couple got married on July 15, 2017, and are currently happily married together.

After his confrontation with his family in 2014 went viral, he got back on his knees with the help of strangers on the internet who got him a place to stay with donations on his GoFundMe which received more than $90,000 in donations.

This was an act of kindness that 20-year-old Daniel did not expect to see from strangers when his own family had abandoned him. He got to meet some really nice people after the incident who helped him be who he is now. 

Based on the audio recording of the events, a short VR movie named “Out Of Exile” was made to tell people Daniel’s story.

The 28-year-old is now an LGBTQ advocate based in Atlanta, Georgia, and speaks out on homophobic actions of the people and society. He celebrates pride month with his partner and his mom-by-choice.

Pierce graduated from the Kennesaw State University, majoring in business, and has even rekindled his relationship with his birth mother, who accepts him for who he is.

Daniel has become an inspiration to the LGBTQ+ community people while shedding light on the people who still use religion to overshadow their homophobic attention.
