Helen Simmons and Matthew Jones were arrested early on Saturday in connection with a gunshot and robbery at a jewelry store in Arizona, California, a U-Haul box truck.<\/p>\n

The Californian Huntington Beach Police Department arrested Simmons and Jones on July 16 following a car chase.<\/p>\n

The two suspects in the July 12 armed robbery of a jewelry store in Anthem, which left one victim critically injured, have been detained in California, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Helen Simmons, 18, and Matthew Jones, 22 \u00a0were taken into custody by Huntington Beach Police Department in California in connection with a jewelry store shooting and robbery.<\/p>\n

Around 6:00 PM, a robbery and shooting took place at Andrew Z Diamonds and Fine Jewelry, which is located in the 3600 block of West Anthem Way. The two suspects entered the store while dressed completely in black and riding motorcycle helmets.<\/p>\n

One suspect was seen brandishing a gun at employees and customers on the surveillance video of the crime, while another broke jewelry cases.<\/p>\n

Around 1:26 AM, the chase started somewhere in Huntington Beach, continued on neighborhood surface streets, and then moved into nearby freeways.<\/p>\n

For more than an hour, police chased the U-Haul truck as it made its way to Corona, then returned to the Anaheim Hills neighborhood before turning onto municipal streets.<\/p>\n

During the chase, two successful spike strip deployments slowed the vehicle and enabled authorities to do a PIT maneuver close to the intersection of East Canyon Rim Road and Va Corral at around 2:50 AM.<\/p>\n

Helen Simmons and Matthew Jones were detained on a number of felony offenses in connection with the armed robbery at the Anthem jewelry store,<\/p>\n

According to Bretado, Helen Simmons is now being held on a $500,000 bond while Matthew Jones is being held on a $1,000,000 bond due to MCSO charges.<\/p>\n

The most serious crime is a felony, which carries additional severe penalties like a state jail sentence and high fines.<\/p>\n

As the video continues, one person is seen carrying a duffel bag while the other is seen pointing a gun towards two unknown individuals.<\/p>\n

The incident was captured on an 8-second video, which did not reveal what caused it, but according to the Sheriff’s Office, when deputies got on the site, they discovered one victim of gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n

The victim was transferred to a hospital in a critical but stable condition.<\/p>\n
