In addition, he served as the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, and Skills from 2010 through 2015, during which time he was a member of the Cabinet.<\/p>\n The politician was an economic adviser for the Kenyan government in the 1960s and the Commonwealth Secretariat in the 1970s and 1980s.
