Following in his dad Regillio Simons’ footsteps, Xavi Simons is also pursuing a career in football. He’s picking up where his father left off.<\/p>\n

The PSV forward was thrust into the public eye after his team’s dominant performance in the Europa League triumph against the English club Arsenal. The team, managed by Michael Arteta, suffered their first loss in nine matches thanks to the 2-0 victory against the Gunners.<\/p>\n

The Dutch footballer, who is just 19 years old, was identified as one of the three emerging young talents from the Netherlands who were included in the running for this year’s Golden Boy award.<\/p>\n

Although he has the age as other wonder kids Jude Bellingham, Jamal Musiala, and Pedri, Xavi Simons appears to have always been in the game for longer than the rest.<\/p>\n

Regillio Simons is the father of young aspiring Dutch talent Xavi Simons. His dad is a former football player.<\/p>\n

Simons was born in Amsterdam and is the son of former Dutch player and coach Regillio Simons. Simons himself played football in the Netherlands. On the same day that he was born, his older brother Faustino, a football player, was brought into this world. Simons had ancestors from Suriname; if one were to believe the branch of the family tree originates from his father.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Xavi’s father, Regillio Simons, retired from professional soccer when Simons was barely three years old, having played for TOP Oss in the Netherlands. The Simons family moved from Amsterdam to Spain not long after. In recent years, Simons has made Spain his permanent home.<\/p>\n

Beginning with his name, which was bestowed upon him by his father in honor of the illustrious player for FC Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez.<\/p>\n

Regillio Simons Coached AFC Ajax Amateurs<\/h3>\n

After his playing career, Xavi’s father, Regillio, began his coaching career. Since 2005, he has embarked on a career as a coach, rising the ranks to become the head coach at many teams.<\/p>\n

He is the head coach for one of the Ajax Youth Academy teams for the current season. Since 2010, Simons has held the Coaching degree required for a UEFA Pro Licence. From 2013 to 2017, he managed AFC Ajax Amateurs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Regillio Simons first picked up a football with FC Amstelland and began his career there. He was a player for SC Telstar, Fortuna Sittard, NAC, Willem II, ADO Den Haag, and TOP Oss.<\/p>\n

\u00a0After retiring from his professional career, he played for FC T\u00fcrkiyemspor, an Amsterdam amateur team that competed in the highest level of the city’s Sunday league for many years. Beginning in the summer of 2008, he was a member of the junior squad of the AFC Ajax for a total of two years.<\/p>\n
