Meet Fern Whelan Partner Aileen Whelan<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\nAileen Whelan<\/span><\/a>\u00a0leads a double life. Brighton forward works part-time as a play therapist and has a master’s degree in child psychology, which keeps her busy.<\/span><\/p>\nAfter Steve Heighton and Michelle Guppy founded Rugby Town Girls FC, Whelan began her playing career there in 1996. Her father, Declan, also joined the coaching staff at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n[image-1]<\/span><\/p>\nWhelan began her senior career playing for Milton Keynes Dons, Rushden & Diamonds F.C., and Barnet Ladies F.C. Before the start of Nottingham Forest’s 2011\u201312 Women’s Premier League season, she signed with the team and made her debut with a goal.<\/span><\/p>\nBy reacquainting her young patients with the craft of self-expression, she hopes to reverse the damage at least partially. She said in an interview, “We give kids a way to express their fears through play verbally.
