\nAbiy Ahmed is a Pentecostal Christian, born of a Muslim father, Ahmed Ali, and an Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church Christain mother, Tezeta Wolde. He was brought up in a family of religious diversity.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\nThe politician’s father was a typical farmer, speaking only Oromo, while his mother was a fluent speaker of both Amharic and Oromo.
