Youssouf Fofana's Parents and Origine
Youssouf Fofana's parents originated from France and are of Malian ancestry. Their son has played in five Europa League games and scored one goal.
Between 19 and 21, he competed for France in a youth international competition. Fofana was given his first call-up to the France national team on September 15, 2022, for two UEFA Nations League games. He has set his eyes on making the upcoming World Cup 2022 squad in Qatar.
Aurelien Tchouameni, currently a Real Madrid star, played with Fofana, a 23-year-old teammate.

Last season, Fofana racked up 46 appearances in all competitions alongside Tchouameni. He also has an eye for assisting goals, having laid on four strikes for teammates as Monaco finished second in Ligue 1.
Fofana signed for Monaco in January 2020, moving across his native France from Strasbourg. Since then, he has played 93 games for the club and has two caps for his country’s Under-21s.
