Actually, the story is not actually as it seems. George did not actually assault a handicapped student.

Jonathan Martin, Pickens’ old Hoover teammate, is apparently visible in the video fighting with Pickens.

Martin moved to Twitter to deny not only the nature of the altercation seen in the video but also College Football Quotes’ accusation that he is “mentally handicapped.”

On Twitter, other Hoover students defended Pickens. College Football Quotes has withdrawn the message, and the account’s proprietors have apologized to Pickens and Martin.

George Pickens Draft Update

In the second round of the NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Georgia wide receiver George Pickens.

Pickens, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 200 pounds, could help the Steelers cope with the loss of JuJu Smith-Schuster, who left for Kansas City in free agency.

He caught 85 catches for 1,240 yards in his first two seasons with the Bulldogs in 2019 and 2020 before tearing the ACL in his right knee in March of this year.

Pickens returned near the conclusion of the 2021 season and caught five passes for 107 yards, including a 52-yard reception in Georgia’s national championship game triumph over Alabama.
