Who Is Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu? Senator Ike’s Wife Was Also Arrested For Human Trafficking
Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu were arrested by the UK police while transporting a child from Nigeria to the UK for organ harvesting.
They were busted at the Heathrow Airport after the police received an anonymous tip about the illegal transport of the child. Crime like this has been a major problem for north African countries like Nigeria, where people are consoled to sell their organs illegally in exchange for very little money.
Who Is Beatrice Nwanneka Ekweremadu?
She is the wife of ex-deputy President of the Nigerian Senate Ike Ekweremadu. He is an Enugu State-born politician and attorney, who has held the office of the Nigerian Senate since 2003. He belongs to the People’s Democratic Party and served as the Nigerian Senate’s deputy president for three consecutive senates. He retired from that position in June 2019.

He has been charged with his wife for allegedly arranging the transfer of a child who was being sent to the UK from Nigeria for organ harvest. Organ harvest is an illegal offence involving removing a person’s organs without their consent.
Organ Harvesting Charges Against Senator Ike Ekweremadu And His Wife
The couple was arrested at the Heathrow airport after a tipoff was provided to the police. The arrest resulted from an ongoing investigation carried out by the UK police department. Since May 2022, when the Metropolitan Police was made aware of possible violations of the modern slavery Act.
Per allegations, it’s either Ike Ekweremadu, his wife, or one of their children has a medical condition and they brought another person’s child into the UK to harvest their organs and use them. Whatever it is, this is so shocking. The UK doesn’t play with children.

They will attend the Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court for the crime they have done. As of now, they are believed to be kept under custody at Heathrow airport.
The authorities have not disclosed the age or the gender of the child. The child has been kept on a safeguard after being released from the vicious trap of the Ekmeremadu couple.

The couple has 4 children together. The other personal details of Ekweremadu are kept secret from the media. He and his wife will face the trial at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court as he is accused of human trafficking.
