Who Is Alex Smalley? Meet The Golfer’s Parents & Family

Alex Smalley is an American professional golfer who helped the United States win at Royal Liverpool in the summer of 2019 with a 3-1 record. Despite his many accomplishments, Smalley’s name does not appear on Wikipedia.

Alex won two Sunnehanna Amateur Championships and a handful of tournaments during his amateur career. The 25-year-old made his PGA Tour debut at the 2017 U.S. Open.

Besides being a member of the U.S. Palmer Cup and the renowned Walker Cup teams, he is a part of GolfWeek and Ping All-American as well. He also ended up winning the Rod Myers Award.

Alex was placed 12th in the 2019 World Amateur Golf Ranking. Soon after competing in the Walker Cup, Smalley turned professional.

Alex Smalley of white ethnicity was born to parents Terry and Maria Smalley on October 21, 1996, in Rochester, New York, making him 25 years old.  

Throughout his career, both his father and mother caddied for him. His mother was his caddy in July when he qualified for the John Deere Classic in 2021.

Alex Smalley has gained 13.7 shots on the field Tee to Green this week. That’s four and a half shots better than JT who is second in that category.

While his father caddied for him throughout his junior career, his mother was the one to pick up the job after he turned pro in 2019. Smalley grew up in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and attended Wake Forest High School before shifting to Greensboro.

The pro golfer has one sibling, Katie, although little is known about her.

Alex Smalley is not married, however, he is rumored to have a girlfriend. Despite coming out with his relationship status, he has not revealed his partner’s name. 

Smalley has yet to post a photo with his partner, and it is unknown if she is also a golfer.

There is not much information available on his dating history and it is unclear when the two started dating.

Alex Smalley, a professional golfer, is a millionaire with a net worth of more than $1.2 million. His career earnings have reached $1,261,300 since going pro in 2019. He is ranked #174 in World golf. 

Despite the trials of 2020, Alex qualified for the 2020 Phoenix Open and competed in a number of tournaments, having won his first professional tournament on the SwingThroughTour at Bermuda Run.

The professional golfer competed in several LOCALIQ events, setting the series record with a 60 in the second round of the Calloway Gardens Classic.
