Joanna Jedrzejczyk is a well-known Polish former professional Mixed Martial Artist and Muay Thai kickboxer. She has a twin sister, Katarzyna Ostrowska Kasia.
Her twin sister Katarzyna is just 25 minutes older than her. However, they both share the same day and the same year as their birthdate.
Jedrzejczyk is a former YFC Women’s Strawweight Champion with several records in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). She is the first Polish champion and the first female European champion.
Joanna has earned a silver medal and five gold medals at the IFMA World Muaythai Championships. She also holds several different championship titles with promotions like World Kickboxing Network and World Muaythai Council.
In May 2012, Joanna switched to mixed martial arts (MMA). She won her very first nine fights, and in March 2015, she won the UFC Women’s Strawweight Championship at UFC 185.
After losing a rematch against Zhang at UFC 275 in June 2022, Jedrzejczyk officially retired from Mixed Martial Arts.

Joanna was born to her parents, Anna Jedrzejczyk and Jan Jedrzejczyk, on August 18, 1987.
Jedrzejczyk was originally born in Olsztyn, Poland. She lived there with her parents, her twin sister Ostrowiska and her older sister Ewa.
Joanna’s parents, Anna and Jan, owned a small grocery in Olsztyn. They used to earn a living by selling fresh foods in their grocery.
When Joanna was young, she would help her parents in the store. Joanna liked spending time with her parents.
Even though Joanna’s parents had always supported her in every decision she took, they weren’t happy when she started her Muay Thai training.
Jedrzejczyk’s mom Anna still can’t watch her matches, and if she does, she panics. Her father and sisters attend her matches to support her.
However, Joanna respects her parents, and in an interview, she stated, ” My parents taught me how to work hard. How to respect money, respect people, and be a person full of faith and believe in God. They just wanted me to be safe and have a good life.”
Katarzyna Ostrowska Is Joanna’s Twin Sister
The former professional MMA fighter has a twin sister named Ostrowska Kasia. Unlike her sister Joanna, Ostrowska is an accountant by profession.
Ostrowska tied the knot with her husband, Krzysiek, on October 18, 2014. The couple has a baby together.
Their baby boy Ignas is almost a year and six months old. Ignas was born to the couple on May 21, 2021.
Ostrowska and her twin sister Joanna both turned 35 on August 18, 2022. Joanna is twenty-five minutes older than her twin sister.
The twins are very close to each other and are even seen spending holidays together by going on vacation trips.
