Alex returned to the family property shortly after 10 p.m. and reported the bodies to 911.
According to a news statement, a state grand jury issued four indictments charging Murdaugh with 21 counts of breach of trust with fraudulent purpose and six charges of computer crimes.

Murdaugh was well-known for his “representation of wounded victims in many areas of personal injury litigation, including trucking lawsuits, products liability, and wrongful death.”

Alex Murdaugh Charges Explored
Murdaugh was arrested on September 16, 2021, in connection with an insurance fraud plot in which he allegedly planned his own death so that his surviving son could collect the life insurance benefit.
According to a statement from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, he faces accusations of insurance fraud, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and submitting a fake police report.
On January 21, 2022, a South Carolina grand jury delivered four new indictments against Murdaugh, including counts for 23 new crimes.
According to CNN, Murdaugh is accused of stealing more than $2.2 million from Natarsha Thomas, Hakeem Pinckney, Arthur Badger, and Deon Martin.
He is suspected of stealing $8.5 million in total.
