Marco Fu Wife Shirley Fu And Family Life In Hong Kong

Marco Fu wife Shirley Fu is the childhood friend of the snooker player. Marco has been married to Shirley for 11 years.

Though they were friends from a young age, the love didn’t blossom until 2008, when they first started dating. Three years later, they tied the knot. And 11 years into their marriage, Marco and Shirley have been parents twice to two cute girls.

Nicknamed Cue-Ma-Fu, Marco developed a passion for snooker at nine after his father introduced him to the game while they lived in Vancouver, Canada.

Last year his match against Ronnie O’Sullivan drew a world-record crowd of 9000 at the Hong Kong Coliseum. 2022 also marked the year for the comeback of the 45-year-old after two years of absence.

In an interview with South China Morning Post in 2011, Marco revealed he and Shirley had been friends since their youth, but it wasn’t love at first sight. The snooker player said he only developed feelings for Shirley years later when he had already become a household name in his country.

The couple dated for three years prior to their marriage, with Marco confessing his feelings for Shirley in 2008, the year he won his first ranking title in the Grand Prix.

According to IMDb, Shirley has a Master’s degree in supply chain logistics and for most of her marriage with Marco has tried to remain away from the public limelight.

Many of Marco’s fans took to the comment section, as they said it looked like the player was getting weight training while making his shots. In October 2022, Amelia walked the red carpet for the premiere of the movie Warriors of Future with her dad and her sister Alicia.

For his daughter’s seventh birthday, Marco decided to make it as memorable as possible as the Fu family took a trip to Disney Explorers Lodge Resort Hotel. It was followed by a concert of Mirror that happened a few days after Amelia’s birthday on July 25.

Maro Fu Family

Maro Fu family shifted to Hong Kong in 1996 after staying in Vancouver for six years.

The snooker player immigrated to Vancouver in 1990 due to his father’s job. He returned to his native land in 1996 and decided to continue his snooker career in Hong Kong.

Marco didn’t come from a family with a background in the cue sport, but that doesn’t mean the 45-year-old lacked support from his parents growing up playing snooker.

Marco Fu Parents

Marcu Fu was born to parents Wai-Tai Fu and Pik-Ling Chan on February 8, 1978, as an only child.

The three shifted to Vancouver, Canada, after Wai-Tai had to travel 6500 miles due to work commitments.

His dad worked at the Hang Seng Bank and was the one to introduce him to snooker at the age of nine. Wai, with his better half, returned to Hong Kong solely to encourage his son’s budding snooker career.
