Pamela Marie Hupp is an criminal who murdered Louis Gumpenberger on August 16, 2016, for which she is receiving a life sentence.

Hupp’s allegation that she shot Gumpenberger in self-defense after he chased her into her house with a knife was rejected by law authorities.

Then eventually signed an Alford guilty plea before charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action could be tried.

What Happened To Pam Hupp’s Neck? 

Pam Hupp reportedly attempted to commit suicide when she tried to stab herself in the neck after she was arrested.

Pam was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action on August 23, 2016.

When she was detained, she requested to go to the restroom, where she stabbed herself in the neck with a pen in an apparent suicide attempt.

St. Charles County deputy prosecutor Phil Groenweghe described the behavior as “awareness of guilt.”

In August 2019, she was condemned to life in prison without the possibility of release. She is incarcerated at the Chillicothe Correctional Center.

Why did Pam Hupp Kill Betsy?

Shirley Neumann, Hupp’s mother, died in 2013 from injuries incurred in a fall from the balcony of her third-floor apartment in Fenton, Missouri.

A tip to police accused Hupp of murdering Neumann for monetary gain.

However, She was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Betsy Faria in July 2021.

Is Pam Hupp In Jail? 

Pam Hupp is not exactly in Jail; however, she is in serving her sentence at the Chillicothe Correctional Center.

Hupp said in a phone conversation with her then-husband that she had pled guilty so that her family would not have to “see an unpleasant trial.”

In August 2019, she was condemned to life in prison without the possibility of release. 

The murders of Betsy Faria and Louis Gumpenberger have received widespread media coverage, including extensive reporting from local Fox affiliate station KTVI in St. Louis and five Dateline NBC programs that aired from 2014 to 2019.
