Ana Hache died at 53 on August 12, 2022, after being involved in a car crash on August 5 in Los Angeles. She crashed her Mini cooper into an apartment, which severely injured her.

She was pronounced brain dead after multiple surgeries attempted to revive her life failed. She was kept on life support till August 12.

Heche gained fame in the early 1990s by portraying twins in the serial opera Another World and appearing in movies, such as the character of Laura in Nicole Holofcener’s breakthrough film, Walking and Talking. In the gangster movie Donnie Brasco, she played Johnny Depp’s girlfriend in her debut lead role.

She was also cast in three more iconic films that year: the horror classic I Know What You Did Last Summer, the disaster film Volcano, and the political satire Wag the Dog. In addition, Heche started a high-profile relationship with talk show presenter and sitcom star Ellen DeGeneres in the same year, just after the comedian came out as homosexual.

She has been featured on the covers of numerous magazines throughout her career. In 1998, People magazine named Heche one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.

Ana’s death has left her fans, friend, and family in a deep shock. The actress had suffered a devastating brain injury in a vehicle accident, and her family had announced this to the public just before she passed away. On Instagram, Nancy Davis posted a tribute message to her dear friend after the news of her demise came to the public.

According to US online news sources, Heche was reportedly brain dead on Friday afternoon, which is the legal definition of death in California. Per Heche’s indicated desire to be an organ donor, on August 11, she was being kept on life support to see whether her organs were still viable for donation. Heche was not expected to survive after anoxic brain damage.

Heche identified as a bisexual person in the 1990s, so her romance with Ellen DeGeneres and the circumstances surrounding their breakup attracted much media attention. The pair first began dating in 1997, and at one point, they expressed a desire to get into a legal partnership after it was legalized in Vermont.

Heche allegedly left DeGeneres in 2000 for cameraman Coleman Laffoon, whom she had met the year before while on DeGeneres’ stand-up comedy tour. She and Laffoon were wed on September 1 of that year. In March 2002, they welcomed a son.

On February 2, 2007, Laffoon, who had been married for five and a half years, filed for divorce. On March 4, 2009, the divorce became legally binding. Heche allegedly deserted her spouse for James Tupper, a co-star in Men in Trees. In March 2009, she and Tupper had a boy, who was both their first child. However, in 2018, Tupper and Heche divorced because of personal reasons.

According to many sources, Anne Heche had a net worth of $4 million at the time of her unfortunate demise. She was one of Hollywood’s charming, talented, and busiest actresses.

After her father passed away when she was 12, she began acting to support her family. Heche made her debut as a working actress in the 1991 Daytime Emmy-winning soap series Another World.

Two years later, she made her film debut in An Ambush of Ghosts and starred in movies on both big and small screens.
