Attorneys for Robert Harris summoned witnesses during a preliminary hearing on Monday in Johnson County District Court. Tanisha Harris’s friends and family observed the proceedings while many were sporting lapel pins featuring the image of their loved ones.

Her mother was the first eyewitness, remarking how out of character for her daughter, who was 38 at the time of her death, to reject phone calls.
