The “Super Freaky Girl” rapper celebrated receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday evening, August 28, by performing all of her greatest hits.
Since Missy Elliott, another female rapper, received the award in 2019, Minaj is the first recipient of the Video Vanguard award.
Due to issues brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic, the award has not been given in the past two years. She follows LL Cool J (1997), Kanye West (2015), and Elliott as the fourth rapper to receive the award.
