Find Out The Charges Against Todd Hodney Is He Arrested

In March 1979, after hearings in Sailor’s case, a jury convicted Hodne guilty of multiple charges. Judge Richard Sharp quieted the Centre County Courthouse moments after the verdict and declared that Hodne would be freed to fly back home to Long Island with his family while awaiting punishment.

In September 1978, Hodne assaulted Betsy Sailor, a Penn State senior. The impact of Hodne’s crime soon split several members of the Nittany Lions football team. According to ESPN, Paterno warned his teammates that Hodne was culpable and that if they testified for him, they would be kicked off the team.

Todd followed a group of 19- and 20-year-olds along I-95 to Florida for a spring break trip solely to terrify them and convince them he couldn’t be responsible for Sailor’s rape.

He raped a 23-year-old woman in the woods and a 20-year-old woman, chained and battered, near a middle school a few weeks later. Later, he would assault a 16-year-old girl close to his home in Wantagh, New York.
