After six years in detention in Iran, Richard Ratcliffe was eventually reunited with his wife Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe on March 17, 2022, in Britain.
In the early hours of Thursday, he and his seven-year-old daughter Gabriella were reunited amid tearful scenes at an RAF airbase.
In 2021, he embarked on a hunger strike for 21 days to persuade the authorities to act to free his wife.

He protested outside the Foreign Office in central London, where he was joined for a vigil on Friday by his seven-year-old daughter, Gabriella, and supporters.
His efforts and voice to put pressure on the government to implement steps in the bail of his wife worked off, and the family is now reunited.

What Happened To Richard Ratcliffe’s Face?
Richard Ratcliffe appeared to have red rashes on his face in a recent photo with his wife and kids.
His face seemed dry and scaly, leading his supporters to speculate that he had had surgery.
However, there are no indications that he is receiving surgery. It might be that he has natural rashes on his face that will go away following his skin treatment.

Richard made Nazanin a cup of tea on their first morning together after the reconnection on Thursday. Then there was a stroll in the park with Gabriella as they began the process of rediscovering one other.

Richard Ratliffe’s wife, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe (born December 26, 1978) is an Iranian-British dual citizen who was held in Iran from April 3, 2016, until March 16, 2022. After her release, Richard reunited with her wife again.
His wife was sentenced to five years in jail in early September 2016 after being found guilty of “plotting to destabilize the Iranian regime.” During the COVID-19 epidemic in Iran on March 17, 2020, she was briefly freed while being watched.
Richard and Nazanin have been reunited after six years. He endured two hunger strikes and a grueling battle to save his adoring wife from a Tehran jail.
