He took an interest in golf because of his parents. His father Andreas is an accomplished golfer with a four-handicap for the past 22 years.

Schwab walked onto the golf course for the first time with his younger brother, eager to begin swinging at a young age. He was only five years old at the time, and his younger brother was four.


At the 1976 Winter Olympics, his father Andreas competed in bobsleigh for Austria.
