His interest was piqued in high school after receiving a part in one of the school’s dramas to say one line on stage. Aakeel made his big break when he received a leading role in the feature film Eaten by Lions as Omar in 2018.
The same year, he appeared in the reboot of Tom Raider. Moreover, he starred in the BBC One drama Moving On: Eighteen (2016) which went on to win ‘Best Daytime Programme’ in 2018.
