Only two weeks after the untimely passing of his older brother, Declan Donnelly and his wife Ali Astall announced the arrival of their second child, a newborn boy.
In an Instagram post shared with followers on Sunday night, the TV host announced the surprise delivery and revealed the child’s name was Jack Anthony Alphonsus.
The newborn’s name pays homage to Dec’s long-time presenting partner Ant McPartlin and his late father from Northern Ireland, Alphonsus Donnelly, who lost his battle with illness in 2011.

With his wife Ali Astall, Declan Donnelly had an unexpected second child. On Sunday, the broadcaster posted on Instagram to inform his followers of the fantastic news.

Isla is so happy to be a big sister, and he is fantastic! Dec and Ali married in 2015; they also have a three-year-old daughter named Isla.
Although rumors of Ali’s second pregnancy began to spread after she did not accompany her husband to the TV Baftas in May, the couple had not previously made the announcement.

The firstborn of the couple is identified as Isla Elizabeth Anne Donnelly. They wanted to keep it a secret until Ali had gone through the 12-week mark, a close source told The Sun.
Isla Elizabeth Anne, our baby girl, was born shortly after 9 o’clock this morning, and Ali and he was delighted to announce her arrival, the new father wrote on Twitter.

Although rumors of Ali’s second pregnancy began to spread after she did not accompany her husband to the TV Baftas in May, the couple had not previously made the announcement.
Their daughter just turned four. Ali expressed her excitement for motherhood in a speech before the delivery of her daughter, saying: she wished it would come out now that we could fast-forward to having the kid. We are impatient to begin and want to go forward.
When did Declan Donnelly and Ali Astall Got Married?
Several years of friendship had passed between the two before they began dating in 2014 and were married in 2015. The wedding included about 200 attendees, and Ant, Dec’s co-host on television, served as the best man.
Dec said to the Express about their relationship: We frequently hung around. We used to go out to dinner on Valentine’s Day when she and I were both single.
They went on a date last year. Because of how long we’ve been coworkers, it was a little odd.
On December 18, 1978, Ali Astall was born in Newcastle, Australia. Before their relationship, she was a talent manager who served as Dec’s manager for more than ten years.
