Noah Okafor was born on May 24, 2000. He is 22 years old and already represents the Switzerland national team.

Okafor spent most of his time in his birthplace Binningen, a beautiful municipality in the district of Arlesheim in Canton of Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland. However, he moved to Salzberg in 2020 after learning that the Austrian club provided opportunities for young people and has given platforms to football stars like Erling Haaland and Sadio Mane in the past. 

At eight years old, Okafor knew he wanted to be a professional footballer and represent his national side.

Raised in an educated family, Noah has received support from his parents and family members. However, he now lives far away from his family in Salzburg, Austria.

Noah Okafor’s father, Christian Okafor, is of Nigerian descent. His ethnicity is Igbo, which is the third largest population in Nigeria.

Christian departed his home country as a youngster. The Nigerian then moved to Viena, Austria, searching for a satisfying job.

Initially, he struggled hard for almost six months, searching for jobs. He then decided to move to Munich, where he graduated with a university degree. Nevertheless, fate took him to Basel, where he was introduced to his future wife.

In the hope of acquiring a promising future for his wife and children, he settled in Switzerland, where Noah and his other four kids were born.

Christian Okafor played football in Switzerland. However, he could not achieve the desired success he had always wished for. So, after leaving sports, he started his career as a Mechanic.

Noah Okafor’s mother, Nicole Okafor, is a native of Aesch, Switzerland. She is of European descent.

Nicole met Okafor’s father, Christian, in Basel, Switzerland, while completing her higher education. They quickly fell for each other and decided to take vows to spend life forever.

Interestingly, Noah’s mom was never supposed to be in Basel then. Nicole was not a travel lover; she had arrived in the city with her friends, who forced her to fly there on vacation.

Nicole has said: “I wasn’t the traveling type. But a friend of mine was going to fly there for her vacation. She told me Nicole, Please come with me, or we’ll never see each other again.” Thanks to Nicole’s friend, she met her future husband, Christian, in the Swiss city.

Noah Okafor has preferred his mother’s nationality to play international-level football. However, he was also scouted by the Nigerian National side three years ago. 

Noah Okafor has always cherished his mixed family background and culture. He openly admires his African and European roots.

Okafor and his family members are very religious. They are keen followers of the Christian religion. 

In a 2019 interview, Okafor said: “I feel great, and I thank God for this opportunity he has given me. I am a very hardworking guy, and I know that so far, I have put in the work; success will surely be the outcome.”

He also said: “It has been a tough journey but it has been with a lot of new experiences. Playing football at this level requires a lot, and I have adapted to the situation so far.”

“Coming through the youth levels of FC Basel from age eight, I have always known that moving to the next level has its own challenges. By listening to the coach’s instructions and experienced players in the team, he has made it much easier for me to adapt to this new level.”

Noah Okafor was born alongside three siblings. He has two brothers and a loving sister.

Football was a sport that Noah, along with his brothers Elijah and Isaiah, were all fervent fans of as kids. The boys learned to play soccer as they grew up, which is still significant to the entire family.

Their family’s backyard was where they remembered football best from their youth. The lads then passed this philosophy to their cousins (Aaron, Gideon, and Desmond), who shared their passion for football.

Okafor started his career playing for the youth sides of Swiss clubs FC Arisdorf and Football Club Basel.

After processing through all the levels with Basel, he finally got a chance to make his professional debut on May 19, 2018, in the home game against FC Luzern. Then, on July 28, 2018, in a 1-1 away tie against Xamax during the second rounds of the 2018–19 season, he scored his first goal for Basel.

Okafor signed for the Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg in the year 2020. He has made 50 appearances for the side and netted 18 goals in the Red Bull shirt, and two of his dreams have come in the Uefa Champions League.

The Swiss star scored the game’s lone goal on December 8, 2021, as Salzburg overcame Sevilla in the last Champions LeagueUCL group stage encounter. With the victory, Salzburg advanced to the Round of 16 and became the first Austrian team to reach the Champions League knockout rounds. Yet again, in 2022’s UCL season, Okafor has shown his talent by netting an equalizer against Chelsea in the group stage game.

Regarding his international career, he earned eight caps for Switzerland and scored two team goals. On November 15, 2021, he scored his first goal for Switzerland against Bulgaria in a World Cup qualifying match. Switzerland won, and they qualified automatically for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. The Swiss attacker will be a crucial player for the Swiss national team in the World Cup 2022. 

Noah Okafor’s estimated net worth is above USD 1.5 million. He earns a salary of £254,800 per year playing for the Red Bull Salzburg team.

According to the football transfers site, his current market value is between £6 million and £11 million.

In the current transfer window, Okafor was scouted by many famous football clubs, such as Dortmund, Real Madrid, and Nottingham Forest. The attacker has been under the radar of Dortmund after the club sold its striker Erling Haaland to Manchester City.

Knowing the fact that Salzburg and Dortmund have done so many successful businesses in the past, Okafor might move to the German Bundesliga team in the coming future. Nevertheless, the attacker’s value might skyrocket to USD 20 million due to his perfect form in the current season.
