Who Is Daphne McQuarter? Alena Analeigh Wicker Parents Proud Of Her Medical School Acceptance
Alena Analeigh Wicker likes going to the cinema, playing football, baking, and spending time with friends, much like other 13-year-olds.
But she recently received a medical school acceptance, much in contrast to other teens. Arizona Central announced last week that the adolescent had been admitted as part of an early admission program to The University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine.
The little girl, who is from a small town outside of Fort Worth, Texas, began reading books at the age of three, started high school classes at 11, and at the age of 12, she signed up for two universities to pursue two different degrees.
However, she is more concerned with her potential influence than her age.
Alena Analeigh – The Young Prodigy
Alena is a young teenager who enjoys all that other kids her age enjoy.
However, unlike most others, she believes in all that she can potentially achieve, despite her young age. Although the bright young girl has consistently been a few moves ahead of her classmates, she doesn’t believe she is all that unique.

Alena is a junior in college now pursuing two distinct undergraduate degrees in biological sciences at Arizona State University and Oakwood University in Alabama, primarily through online coursework.
She filed for early entrance to the University of Alabama’s Heersink School of Medicine for the 2024 academic year after receiving encouragement from her family, teachers, and advisors.
Although Alena is more than ten years younger than the typical new medical student, she was approved for the course in May.
Alena’s admission prospects, irrespective of her age, were already minimal, given that just 7% of candidates are admitted into US medical schools, and 7% are black students.

Alena is the adoptive daughter of Daphne McQuarter, who professed to have realized her daughter’s abilities early on when she was only a kid.

Daphne says that Alena was highly gifted right from childhood. She was unlike other kids of her age with all her advanced skills. She could easily read chapter books as a child.
Alena was bullied as a child because she was quite intelligent. The bullies at her school called Alena ‘smart pants’. Daphne, Alena’s mother, could not let her daughter be bullied every day and so decided to homeschool her until she was ready to return.
Alena rejoined school when she was in Grade five. When she went back, Daphne enrolled her in advanced high school courses. Alena breezed through the courses as everything was so simple for her.

Alena would get bored with all her schoolwork as it was all so easy. It is probably because of her sharp mind and dedication that she completed her courses at only twelve years.
Clayton Turner, the director of NASA’s Langley Research Center, read a news piece about Alena that made him take an interest in the little girl. In the news, Alena was seen being said that she considers NASA to be her ideal workplace. After learning about her, Turner decided to employ Alena.
Alena truly recreated history after she was chosen as the youngest intern to be hired by NASA. All of this happened at the time when she was trying to decide whether she wanted to go ahead with engineering or not.

Alena’s Education
When she was 12 years old, Alena was done with high school and registered for online classes at ASU.
Alena initially planned to major in engineering to work for NASA, but she quickly discovered that medicine piqued her curiosity.
She thus decided to switch her degree to biological sciences. She will be learning genetic makeup and medicine background this summer as she continues to take online courses.
According to Alena Analeigh Wicker, she intended to concentrate on viral immunology whilst simultaneously working to improve healthcare coverage for people who may not presently have it. She stated this to the Washington Post.
She will finish her undergraduate work in 2024, and in the fall of that same year, Alena will start medical school. By the time she turns 18, she wants to be a doctor.
The Brown STEM Girl
Alena is not only concentrated on her schoolwork; she is also a rising businesswoman as well as a philanthropist.
It was only about one and a half years ago that Alena decided to start the Brown STEM girl. This organization works toward providing several opportunities to girls of color. It is mainly targeted toward girls with a profound interest in STEM.

Alena’s the Brown STEM Girl is not her first achievement; she has been garnering several more for years. The latest achievement of Alena is that she was given the title of one of Time’s Top Kids of the Year. What more? Alena is also an author.
