Does Kenny Chesney Have Cancer? Singer And Songwriter Health Issues Discussed

Kenneth Arnold Chesney, known as Kenny Chesney, is a country music singer from the United States. Besides being recognized as an affluent singer, he is also an avid songwriter and guitarist. He has been nominated for six Grammy Awards and has won twelve CMA Awards and eleven Academy of Country Music Awards for his musical prowess.

Chesney has released more than 20 albums and 40 Top 10 singles, 32 of which peaked at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. One of the most praised songs of the singer was “While He Still Knows Who I Am,” from his album “Welcome to the Fishbowl,” whose context is based on Alzheimer’s disease.

The country singer is in the news for an accident during his concert on 31 July 2022. A woman died after falling from an escalator during the closing of Kenny Chesney’s concert in Denver. While at it, he is also in the stream of talk in speculation of cancer disease. Let me bust the rumor; the singer is fine with no illnesses.

Kenny Chesney Does Not Have Cancer

The American singer and songwriter do not suffer from chronic fatal diseases like cancer. He is fit and healthy. Instead, he has a story associated with his cancer-battling fan.

During one of his concerts in 2016 as part of Spread the Love Tour, Chesney noticed Kelly Swanson, his fan who was a cancer patient, in the crowd. Chesney noticed the fan because of the sign ‘Beatin’ Cancer’ she was holding. Seeing her, Chesney took her hand and began singing the lyrics of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” which included the line “Every little thing is going to be alright.”

Swanson was sporting a baseball cap over her shaved head then. Chesney dragged her onto the stage, took off his cowboy hat and her cap, then leaned in to touch their heads together. Chesney blew her a kiss and caressed her head as they exchanged hugs. Chasney continued singing for her after that. His tenderness won the hearts of many.

Another linkage of Chesney with cancer is that he lost his longtime friend Lisa Lee to brain cancer in 2021.

A Fan Died In Kenny Chesney’s Concert

Kenny’s health is in good shape, but recent news of an accident in his concert venue, Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, is taking over the Internet.

A female fan who was sitting on the escalator railing during his concert died when she plummeted to the concourse below. After hearing about the incident, Chesney was distraught.

“I was devastated to learn of the loss of someone after our show,” he stated in his statement. “There had been so much joy, so much heart coming from the people of Denver last night — and to hear this is heartbreaking,” he added.

“Life is precious. Sharing music brings us together, and that love we share makes us so much more. There are no words for the lady who came to share that love. For her friends and family’s loss, I grieve with them, and for them,” Chasney sent his condolences to the deceased’s family.

According to the outlet, police are looking into the death as an accident and do not believe that the deceased woman was pushed. Authorities have not released the identity of the woman.

Kenny Chesney Is Not Gay

Chesney married actress Renée Zellweger on 9 May 2005; however, the couple split after just four months of marriage. Their split brought about the tide of gay rumors about Chesney,

In the associated papers, Zellweger cited fraud as the explanation for divorce. Regardless, she later clarified using the word fraud as “just legal language and not a judgment of Kenny’s character.” Behind time, Chesney claimed that he panicked about the relationship, which broke their marriage.

In a chat with Oprah Show in 2010, Chesney philosophically addressed his divorce, stating that whatever he achieved in his life, whoever he met in his life, Chesney kept them inside his mind-built box, a space where he felt at home. He wanted to protect everything he put in that box, but Chesney realized his relationship with Zellweger was out of the box, so he separated from her. “She’s a sweet soul, no doubt about it, but I just wasn’t ready,” he said on the Oprah Show.

Chesney’s split with his ex-wife created a different story among fans. He was speculated to be gay. Kenny himself explicitly declared that he was straight in 2007. He admitted to 60 Minutes that he would have revealed his sexual orientation sooner, but he didn’t want to make the situation more well-known. Furthermore, he told Playboy in 2009 that he has several girlfriends who can attest to the fact that he is not gay.
