Finally, Maggie Locascio had made a move. After one more deposition in court the next day, the divorce would be officially finalized.

We don’t know if she was contemplating the end of her 28-year marriage or her upcoming chapters as she drove her Mercedes back to the gorgeous house in Coral Gables.

Murder In The Family – Death Of Maggie Locascio

Maggie Locascio passed away when she was 45 years old. For 28 years, she had been married to Ed Locascio Sr. Eddie, who was 19 at the time, was the son of Maggie and Ed.

Maggie was characterized as stunning, intelligent, and ambitious. Before becoming a stay-at-home mother, she had her master’s degree and worked as an accountant for some time.

The cops showed up at the Locascio residence on Granada Boulevard on October 30, 2001. Even though the alarm had gone off, the police saw that the door was only slightly open. As they moved around the house, they encountered a horrifying scene.

They discovered the death of a woman they knew as Maggie Locascio on the kitchen floor. A call was made to the Miami Dade Homicide Bureau.

Maggie had endured numerous beatings and stabbings. She had also resisted her assailant. She was injured in self-defense, and one of her fingers was almost amputated. The murderer also stepped on Maggie’s chest to ensure she was dead after they failed to kill her.

Where Is The Murderer Michael Locascio Now?

Michael and Ed had only spoken once or twice before the murder. They led far too different lifestyles. They frequently said both before and after the murder in the weeks prior. To be accurate, 39 times.

The police went over the surveillance footage from Ed’s condo. In the footage, they did see Ed and his girlfriend together. But, they also saw another familiar face. At 11:40 pm, a soaking wet Michael showed up at Ed’s condo. He was shown on the outside camera trying to get into the building.

The police believed that Maggie had returned home that night and had no idea what would happen. Michael hid in the garage and entered the home after Maggie did. Maggie had started to cook dinner, and Michael surprised her. He brutally killed her and tried to clean up the evidence.

The police reviewed the video surveillance from Ed’s condominium. They did see Ed and his girlfriend together in the video. But they also recognized a different face. A sopping wet Michael arrived at Ed’s condo at 11:40 pm. He could be seen attempting to enter the structure on the exterior camera.

The police assumed Maggie had gone home that evening and was unaware of what was about to happen. After hiding in the garage, Michael followed Maggie inside the house. Michael surprised Maggie as she was about to begin preparing dinner. He murdered her violently and made an effort to remove the evidence.

The Suspect Edward Locascio Did Not Murder Maggie Locascio

Edward Locascio was the first person the police sought to speak with since his presence at the scene raised suspicions. He was invited to visit the police station by them.

Eddie was questioned by the police about his whereabouts during the murder. He claimed to have been at school, working in the lab with a biology professor. Eddie added that the bastard did it and claimed he wasn’t shocked that his mother had passed away. He described his father as an emotional bully while talking to him.

The cops collected a sample of Eddie’s fingerprints and DNA. However, the moment he was free to exit the station, he ran into his father. Ed Sr. had also been taken in for questioning by the police. The cops reported that it was unsettling and that Eddie passed his father without uttering a word.

Ed was questioned by the police the same way about his whereabouts that evening. Ed claimed to have visited his condo. He was upfront about their divorce but insisted that Maggie wasn’t murdered.

When Ed accused his son, the cops were taken aback. After taking Ed’s DNA and fingerprints, the police released him and instructed him to go. Despite lacking evidence, the cops had suspicions.
