At Aston Villa, where he played seven times in the 1996–1997 season, Hughes made his professional debut. He was a former defender for Wales in football. After serving as Cardiff City’s Head of Academy Coaching, he is now a Professional Development Phase Coach with Manchester United.
He possessed excellent game knowledge and was a sharp player with perfect field positioning. However, injuries plagued him repeatedly, forcing him to call it quits as a football player barely ten years after he started. He played for five different clubs in England and Wales throughout that time.
After stepping away from the field as a player, in 2003, Hughes was chosen to lead Barry Town. Later, Hughes became the head of youth development at English League Two team Shrewsbury Town, where he worked for two years.
Nevertheless, his most notable managerial activity occurred in September 2011, when he accepted the position of youth team coach at Watford, a Championship team. In August 2014, he departed the group to become the Wales Under-21-Under-17 Assistant Intermediate Team Manager.

She is the wife of a well-known sports figure, but she has never allowed her husband’s fame to eclipse her own because she is established in her field and has held the position of one of the most reputable radio hosts in the nation for quite some time.
In place of Louise Elliott from October 2013 to December 2020, Sion hosted the weekday afternoon radio show on BBC Radio Wales. Sion took over for Mal Pope as the host of the BBC Radio Wales Late Show from Monday through Thursday in January 2021.
