The recent condition in the city of Sonora has picked a deadly environment as the Sinaloa Cartel sent around 60 assassins from its armed wing of Gente Nueva and the Delta Group to Altar, Sonora, to try to rescue Francisco Torres Carranza.
Francisco Torres, also known as El Duranguillo was guarded by 15 soldiers who refused a bribe of ten million pesos and as of now, the city is facing heavy terrorism. Read further to find out the full detail.
Who Is Francisco Torres?
Francisoc Torres, also referred to as “El Duranguillo” is the plaza boss of Los Cazadores el Altar, Sonora which is the armed wing of the Sinaloa Cartel.
Torres is the leader of the Delta Group of the Gente Nueva faction within the Sinaloa Cartel. In detail, Gente Nueva is controlled by the “Chapitos,” the sons of jailed Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman.

Duranguillo was arrested by the military on Saturday in Altar, Sonora. According to the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena), “By refusing to be bribed, the military personnel demonstrated the military values of honor, courage, loyalty, and sacrifice, for which members of organized crime escalated to a more aggressive attitude.”
As per the statement given by Sedena, the Chapitos operators intercepted the reaction force on the Saric highway, at the intersection of Ignacio Pesqueira Boulevard, where Duranguillo was detected and forced to exit the black truck he was in.

The Army reiterated that the agents were surrounded near an Oxxo store, as President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador had already advanced. Between shouts and threats, they heard the millionaire offer, but the soldiers remained to wait for reinforcements.

Francisco Torres or El Duranguillo was taken into custody by the Mexican army on July 2. When the cartel’s members could not bail him out with a bribe, they decided to handle the situation violently.

Meanwhile, just 10-15 meters away from the convenience store, more heavily armed gunmen clamored furiously for Duranguillo and the other three detainees.
The uniformed men were stationed behind a car, others at the barricade that meant the official vehicle, and the insured subjects were face down on the parking lot floor, behind the Oxxo. A soldier is seen instructing his companion to keep an eye on him on his left side.
The Sedena emphasized the commander’s operations, which were directed with temperance and security by his outnumbered troops. Reportedly, there were four Sinaloa Cartel members for every soldier.
