A football family is the Pyne family. Their grandfather, father, and brother of George were all professional athletes. The first football player from IMG Academy to attend an Ivy League school is Brendan, whose older brother George played at Brown University.

As a true freshman a year ago, he played in all four games, going 2 of 3 for 12 yards. In the College Football Playoff semifinals versus Alabama, he did complete a seven-yard throw.
