Her husband, Martin Hirigoyen Kelly, was discovered slumped in the doorway of his family’s home at the age of 43 by a fellow doctor on May 20, 2008.
Soon after, he was brought to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where he worked.

Kelly died one day after his tenth wedding anniversary after being unable to be revived. The cause of death during a postmortem examination of the surgeon was discovered to be Dilated cardiomyopathy.
The letters and diary notes inspired her to write a book on her husband’s memory called “After You: Letters of Love and Loss to a Husband and Father.”
In July of 2010, the book was released, which is titled, After You in the UK Kindle version only. Hopefully, it gets released in books, and we get to read the wonderful creation done by the actress.

Their third son, Rex, was born in October 2008, five months after Kelly’s death.
