Alyona Aleksandrovna Khmelnitskaya, better known as Alyona Khmelnitskaya, was born to former ballet dancers.
Her parents, Aleksandr Khmelnitsky and Valentina Savina, performed at the Bolshoi Theater for twenty years. As a child, the actress loved gymnastics and table tennis.
However, after graduating from high school in 1988, she enrolled in the acting department of the Moscow Art Theater School. She performed Konchita in Juno and Avos at the Lenkom from 1990 to 1994.
