Inderjit Singh Reyat is currently living in his residence in British Columbia. He was released to a halfway house in 2016 and has been fully freed with minor limitations to his family’s residence in British Columbia since early 2017.

Critics have criticized his release from custody. Andre Gerolymatos, co-director of the program in terrorism, risk, and security studies at Simon Fraser University in Canada, told CBC News that the parole board’s decision to release the man was “completely absurd.”
