Michy Batshuayi, a former Chelsea striker, was in a romantic relationship with his girlfriend, Gitte Van Der Elst.

The story was before 2020, when he was still playing in the premier league with Chelsea. Van Der Elst, 26 at that time, appeared in court in Mechelen, Belgium. According to Belgian law, failing to make two payments toward a family support obligation may be considered “family desertion,” which is punished by a fine and even up to six months in prison.

Pierre Monville, Batshuayi’s attorney, said all outstanding payments had been brought current. He indicated to the judge that there was just one late payment and that it was due to a misunderstanding between members of Michy’s staff.

The Fenerbahçe striker first disputed that he was the father of the child. However, a different judge decided that he had to make financial contributions to his ex-lover to supervise their kid. As the court reached the judgment, the striker was given a weekly fine of 100,000 euros.

“I just want my daughter; I don’t need him. All that matters is my girl’s future.” Gitte Van Der Elst said, “As our child grows up I will tell her who her father is but I will also tell her how hard it was for us at the beginning and that he didn’t want to even know her.”

Michy Batshuayi, 29, is not married. He never wedded his ex-lover Gitte Van Der Elst; thus, he never had a wife.

His fans will be pleased to hear that the Belgian target man is single at the moment. Now that all the legal actions and case he had with his former partner Gitte is over, Batshuayi can look over again and find himself a new girlfriend.

In January 2020, Batshuayi’s ex-girlfriend hauled him to court for not paying child support for the couple’s daughter. Daya is almost five years old now. According to The Sun, the Belgian striker makes £100,000 every week, and he was reportedly ordered in the past to pay monthly sums to his ex-lover Gitte Van Der Elst.
