Is Scott Grimes Really Leaving The Orville? Replacement In Terms Of His Fictional Character Gordon Malloy

Is Scott Grimes Leaving The Orville? Despite the speculations, he is still going strong on the series.

Grimes is an American actor, voice actor, and singer. He is best known as the voice behind the character of Kevin Swanson in Fox’s superhit sitcom The Family guy.

In recent years, however, he has swapped his off-screen persona for an on-screen role. He is a regular on the sci-fi series, The Orville.

Why Is Scott Grimes Leaving The Orville? Hoax or Truth

The Orville is a popular Sci-fi comedy-drama, created by Seth McFarlane. Scott Grimes is portraying one of the lead characters in the series, Lieutenant Gordon Malloy, since the show’s inception in 2017.

Though The Orville was originally available on Fox, it has departed from the network to sign with Hulu. This led some to believe that Grimes will no longer work for The Orville due to these huge changes. However, this is not true.

No, Scott Grimes is definitely not leaving The Orville.

In fact, Grimes seems very positive about the recent turn of events. Hinting at the network changes, he stated that he is very pleased that the original creators now have more creative freedom on the series. Likewise, he is also optimistic that future plans will align with the current vision.

In a Twitter post, Grimes wrote, “Thanks to all of you for your absolutely mind blowing positive comments about this weeks @TheOrville. it was a blast to make and so glad people get to finally see what took us 19 1/2 years to create”

In addition to The Orville, Grimes is also working on projects such as Oppenheimer. He will be appearing in the film with Hollywood stars like Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, and many more. The movie directed by Christopher Nolan is set to release in 2023.

Furthermore, the actor is collaborating with MacFarlane for another upcoming Tv series titled Ted. The show (whose premiere date is yet to be announced) is a prequel to the hit movie of the same name.

Replacement in Terms of Character – Who is next?

As Scott Grimes is not leaving The Orville, his character will not be replaced by anyone else.

Scott is undoubtedly the best at what he does. As a fact, no one could have portrayed the cocky helmsman Gordon Malloy aka Captain Ed Mercer’s best friend better than him.

Likewise, his chemistry with Captain Ed Mercer (aka Seth MacFarlane) is impeccable. This is still an understatement as not only do they have experience working in the Family Guy together but also a friendship bond of twenty years.

There is no way, MacFarlane will choose anyone else to do the role.
