His father, Steve McDuffie, is renowned for coaching the football team at Bennett High for the past 11 years. Steve’s brothers, Teddy and Chris, were all athletes and played for the college team at the University of Buffalo.

Chris could have had the best chance of the three to make it to the NFL if it weren’t for a knee injury that forced him to put up his cleats. Similarly, football developed into the family’s passion and connection to the broader community. In Buffalo, the word McDuffie came to represent the game, and their legacy was also known to people miles away. Isaiah continued the family tradition by excelling at Bennett and Boston College before being selected by the Packers in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Isaiah grew up idolizing his father and his uncles.
