Johnny Pizarro was shot while reserving parking spaces for a “Law and Order” television show filming in Brooklyn early on Tuesday. Pizarro was found at around 5:15 a.m. in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn with several gunshot wounds to the head and neck.
Johnny Pizarro was immediately pronounced dead after being transported to Woodhull Hospital. The suspect, a male wearing a black sweatshirt and black pants, sped away.
According to NBC New York, the assault took place on a vacant set before filming was set to start.
Photos taken at the scene showed traffic cones in place of parking spaces on a street that was blocked off by police tape. An NBC spokeswoman stated that there was no filming going at the time of the shooting.

Johnny Pizarro, a resident of Queens, works as a crew member on Law & Order: Organized Crime. Pizarro was a contract worker for a business that manages parking for film and television productions.

Pizarro was parenting six kids in Ridgewood, Queens. While filming the third season of the NBC show, Johnny was shot and died early on Tuesday morning in New York.
Early that morning, he was in Greenpoint managing parking restrictions and arranging security for organized crime. He worked for a company that was contracted by the production to perform these tasks.
Around 5:15 in the morning, an unidentified shooter reportedly opened fire when Pizarro was apparently sitting in his car in Brooklyn’s Greenpoint district. Pizarro was taken to Woodhull Medical Center and he was pronounced dead.

Johnny Pizarro was shot several times, and he also had neck and face injuries. Prior to the start of filming, the attack took place on a set that was empty.
A man in a black sweatshirt and black pants was the suspect; he ran away. The victim was sitting in his car at 229 N. Henry Street. Although the motivation for the shooting is now unknown, police believe it was targeted.

The victim’s record for DWI arrests includes one sealed arrest and several more. The inquiry is ongoing, and no one has been taken into custody.
The network acknowledged that Pizarro worked on the cast of the long-running “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” spinoff. The third season of the show is now under development, and it will premiere this autumn.
Speaking with residents revealed a lot of unfounded stories on the shooter’s motivation and the potential causes of the violence, as is the case with any neighborhood incident.
