It was also the year that marked the first time Shannon went official with her romance with Julianne. The two have since tied the knot and have enjoyed success on the soccer field.
The latest celebration came on December 4, 2022, as Julianne became the first woman to lead a men’s soccer team to NCAA Championship. And the proud partner couldn’t help but share an appreciation post for her better half.
The duo has always been proud of their relationship, and they even had the opportunity to represent the LGBTQIA+ community earlier this year in the South Siders pride night game.

Julianne Sitch wife Shannon Sitch is an experienced soccer coach and a former player at the University of Tampa.
The head coach at Aurora University, Shannon’s love for sports stretches back to the early 2000s. In 2014, she shared an Instagram post of the championship ring, reminiscing about the victory she earned with Tampa in 2007.
Along with being a soccer player, Shannon gave equal importance to her academic side. Sitch graduated with a double degree from Tampa in 2009 and later joined Lenoir-Rhyne University to earn a degree in business administration.
In 2014, along with her soccer friends, Shannon achieved her NSCAA diploma, as she shared the proud moment with her followers on Instagram.
Shannon comes from an athletic background, and with her father, Scott Agnew, the football coach, has competed in several marathons. She also has a younger sister Kristen Wren.
Time and again, the soccer coach shares throwback pictures of her and her family members. And in a post in 2013, Shannon joked that her childhood picture and her current coaching picture don’t look much different.
Her major stint as a football coach came at Carnegie Mellon University, where she worked as an assistant coach for six years. Under the mentorship of Yon Struble and Shannon, the Carnegie girls, in 2017, won Division III Championship.
Shannon had also worked as an assistant at Lenoir-Rhyne University while pursuing her master’s degree. She helped the team secure South Atlantic Championship in 2010.
Her best year as a coach at Aurora University came in the pandemic-shortened season in 2020 when her team achieved the fourth position in the conference.
Currently, Sitch is not having the best season, as her team has already faced eight losses, with the latest loss coming against Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Julianne Sitch And Shannon Sitch Relationship Timeline
Julianne Sitch and Shannon Sitch married in July 2021 after beginning their romantic relationship in May 2018.
It was Shannon who first went Instagram official with Julianne as the football coaches posed together with Shannon’s pet dog Charlie.
And a month after Shannon’s post, it was Julianne’s turn to declare her love. The two posed at the famous Pittsburgh bridge, Sixteenth Street in Strip District. Julianne had dawn the t-shirt that said BeTrue, and her caption also said the same as she wrote Love is Love.
Training for Iron Man Together
After they went public with their romance in 2018, the couple continued to post several photos together. Most of the time, they would post photos of them going on a run with Charlie.
In August 2018, Julianne revealed that she and Shannon were training for the Iron Man competition. The two were able to finish the first half Ironman marathon and finished with a respectable time.
After the completion of the marathon, the two continued to train in swimming running, and cycling. But since then, they have not competed in the demanding competition.
Shannon Popped The Big Question In 2019
One year was enough for Julianne and Shannon to realize that they were meant to be. The Aurora head coach popped the big question to her girlfriend Julianne on December 6, 2019.
It was a thumping yes from Julianne’s side, and a month later, after the proposal, the two traveled to Seattle, Washington, for a short trip to take a break from their hectic coaching schedule.
As they started living together after their engagement, with the gyms closed, the two would train together at their home during the pandemic.
Julianne And Shannon Tied The Knot In 2021
Nineteen months after the engagement, Shannon and Julianne tied the knot in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, on July 31, 2021. The couple opted to have their close friends only for the special occasion.
Earlier this year, as they celebrated their first anniversary, Julianne and Shannon shared unseen photographs from their wedding ceremony. The couple is yet to have any children, but they do have Charlie, whom they take wherever they go.
But the couple has already dropped hints that they could be great parents, as they can be seen taking their nephews on several trips with them.
