Kliff Kingsbury Grew Up In A Football Family In Texas

Kliff Kingsbury was born to his parents Tim and Sally Kingsbury on the 9th of August 1979 in San Antonio.

Tim and Sally were teachers, and they met at Southwest Texas State in San Marcos. Tim joined the school as an elementary teacher when his late wife was studying education. 

Sally got her first teaching job at New Braunfels High, where her future husband became a football coach. They also educated their children at the same school.

Kliff trained under his father’s wings while attending high school and played various sports.  

Kliff Dad Tim Served As His High School Coach

Kliff Kingsbury father, Tim Kingsbury, was the defensive coordinator and head coach at New Braunfels High School. 

Tim also played football while in high school, which helped him coach his son’s high school team. Aside from being a football coach, Kliff’s dad also taught world history and US History.

A Vietnam war veteran, Tim also received the Purple Heart after his jaw got shattered by a bullet and his efforts during the war. He retired from his coaching career at 51 after a very successful run at New Braunfels High so he could watch his child play at Texas Tech.

Tim is now married to Janice Kingsbury, born Janice Karen Thomen. She was also a teacher, and the couple now runs a walking tour business in New Braunfels, Spass Walking Tours.

Kliff Mother Sally Is His Drive

Kliff shared with Arizona Cardinals that his mom Sally Kingsbury has always been his motivation and drive.

The athlete lost his mom to cancer in 2005. Sally got diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma in 2003 during her son’s rookie year playing in the NFL. 

Sally underwent three rounds of chemotherapy and multiple operations. She said her last goodbye a few days after the former footballer flew home from New York while playing for the Jets.

He was very close to his late mother and always went to her for advice. She was his inspiration, biggest supporter, and the only person he opened up to, so the former quarterback wakes up every day to honor his late mother.

Kliff Kingsbury grew up with an older sibling named Klint Kingsbury as one of the two sons of Tim and Sally.

The brothers grew up in a disciplined family in New Braunfels, Texas, about 30 miles outside San Antonio. Klint is also a former talented athlete who played football in high school.

However, Klint didn’t pursue athletic professionally like his younger brother and father. 

Both Kliff and Klint were into hunting and fishing from a young age. The duo hunted various animals, like hogs and deer. They were carrying bows and arrows in their hands when they were old enough to walk.

The brothers were so into hunting that they would capture deer at Christmas and turkey at Easter. Moreover, as per USA Today, Klint owns Tactical Archery Systems, and his favorite animals to hunt are elk or kudu.

Kliff Kingsbury belongs to a sports loving family with American football being a major part of it.

Kliff often makes out time to meet and greet with his loved ones. Tim, Kliff’s dad, is in a relationship with Janice Kingsbury.

Kingsbury himself is in a relationship with his girlfriend, Veronica Bielik. The couple recently flew to Thailand to spend their time together after the Cardinals fired Kliff.

Some wonder if Kliff is related to Karen Kingsbury, given their same last name. However, the football coach is unrelated to the former sports writer for the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles Daily News.
